Default Vinyl Wrap

I've just seen this car on PH:

http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1583066.htm

Never really thought about it but that seems a really novel way of having a change of scenery for a while, does it look any good in the flesh? Any ideas how much it would cost? Also how easy does it come off?

Reason I am asking is me and the Mrs are doing a big road trip in the summer, Manchester, Barcelona, Ibiza, Portugal back through France and via Bestival on Isle of Wight, going to be a good few thousand miles and that would surely keep stone chips and damage down, as well as keep that nasty Ibiza dust out?

I answered my own question by typing VINYL WRAP into the search, its a miracle of modern technology.

I also answered the question of 'would my s2000 look good in matt black' to which the answer was no.

Thank you for taking the time to see me type to myself and I hope you enjoyed my title based pun.

Just to make me seem a little more mental I will continue to post in my own question, how much does it cost roughly, any ideas?

I have seen and work with some vinyl wrapped cars, average cost of getting it done is around £2k. Dont expect it to give you much protection, this material is thin and is designed ONLY for looks. There is a white Audi TT that has been wrapped in matt black (the fashion). Its been wrapped for two months now and there is damage to the wrap where it looks like a stone chip.
Its a short term colour change but not particularly long lasting.

with the Tango man - I was quoted £2k last year as a rough guide (would have been more if I wanted anything 'fancy' )

Costs between £1200 and £2000

On my old MY04 S2000 the previous owner had installed a paint shield for stone chip protection. It covered the whole front of the car including wing mirrors, bumper, bonnett and wings.

The shield is a thin laminate film which you can wash, polish etc just the same as your paint.

Cost was £700 fully installed and came with a 4 year warranty incase the film came unstuck. The front of the car was in superb condition and this product was well worth the money.

See the link: http://www.paintshield.co.uk/

I would recommend this for the amount of miles you are doing!

If at any stage you did not want it anymore they could do a simple removal which did not cost too much.
