I came extremely close on my first ever lap.
In fact I predict if I was in the S I would have span.
I'll do a write up as i've got a bit more time on my hands.

Thanks for all the tips, however everyone is making it sound as though they go to a track with no intention on times or bettering themselves
Everyone goes to the ring for the nostalgia, history, see how they get on and maybe have a sneaky look at their watch or am I lying
I have no intention on thrashing my car to the within an inch of its life and certainly not having any accidents.
Recently publicity around the ring has made people think about getting round in under 10 mins, but I just wanted to know in real terms what time would I be looking at?

I wouldn't time yourself. Just enjoy the experiance and take it easy.
I went for the experience, not to set any lap records.
I got overtaken by right POS cars, but did I care? Nah.
It was just nice to watch the big porkers and fast bikes ripping round.
If you get the chance, get on a bike and go round. I did (an R6) and all I can was

2. You don't need to be anywhere near thrashing it to come off second best.
3. You don't get it do you. Question: What time should I be expecting to run the London marathon in?

Moggy, I know what you are getting at and do appreciate all advice and I am going there to experience the whole thing and take it carefully.
However you mentioned marathons and that is a good point
I have run 12 marathons in 6 years and 5 of them London and as you asked 2 hrs 52 mins is my best.
Plenty of friends ask me for advice and what time they look to achieve - so I ask their criteria and gather some key information i.e. training schedule, what start they are at, temperature on the day, how many marathons have they done, what's their best time and I come up with an educated guess.
Therefore, that is all I am asking is if people have been to "The Ring" before, have a stock S2K, a fairly capable driver, did not drive to theirs or the cars limits and what would be a realistic time?
