VSA and CEL lights on
After replacing my oil filter I drove off to find that my VSA and CEL were on. Straightaway I new the culprit as I suddenly remembered that I had disconnected one of the VTEC solenoid connectors to give me better access. I switched off and reconnected the offending plug. On restarting the VSA had gone out but the CEL remained on. Some spirited driving confirmed the VTEC was fully functional so I assumed the CEL would need an ECM reset. I followed the guidance on here (twice actually) to remove the 3rd fuse down on the right-hand side of the internal box but to no avail. In the end I reverted to disconnecting the battery which killed it.
I checked a workshop manual for a 2008 model (mine's a 2009 but that was the best I could find) and the only reference to ECM reset is by a code reader. I wonder if that's because its no longer possible to do it the manual way on 2008~2009 cars ? If so, we might need to update the tech sheets ?
