I think the wind noise masks it.....I am not too worried as the Ferrari made all manner of 'funny' noises at certain revs..I put it down to being close to the engine/gearbox and just one of those things...I am mentioning it when the car goes in but I am guessing that unless something fails it's going to be difficult to track the source....I am not paying for the gearbox to be stripped down for example when the car is working well...

I will be buying a warranty when it reaches the 3 year point next August as based on current mileage it's unlikely to exceed 20,000

Thanks for all the help. It is definately a 'ringing shifter'. It stopped completely when a pressed it to one side. I'm off to the dealership to get some grease. Thanks.

I can't believe honda don't know about it!!

Honda do, but the dealers probably don't. In the service manual, there's a helpful arrow pointing to a few bits of the gear shifter with the label 'grease'. Problem is, there's generally very little, if any applied at the factory. So it's a bit of pot luck - if there's enough grease there, you'll probably never get the 'ringing shifter' problem. If not, sooner or later it'll start. Still, it's an easy fix - and once there's enough grease there, the problem doesn come back.
