Default Wasted Thousands

Having wasted thousands on.

BMW M3
210 BHP Westfied Track Car
EVO 6 Tuned to 340 HP
TVR Griffith
BMW M3

Not bad for 18 Months. Anyway I am back where I started 18 months ago when I sold my imported indyyellow S2000.

Just picked up new new silver 2000 and pleased as punch. Speaking from expensive
experience this car is the best all round combination of power enjoyment handling, looks (in a big way) that money can buy. All the cars I have owned have been on many track days and frankly as a car the S2000 tops the list.

Anyway. R there any exciting meetings locally or national in the UK going on over the summer
that I should know about. The super meet ?? I have not got three hours to read all the thread ...

Pleased to be back.

Andy

Hi Andy

I am intrigued by your comments and have two questions for you.

1. Why no Porsche in your list?
2. What are your comments regarding the M3? I have always fancied trying one (or an M5)

Welcome back to the S2000!

Great to hear you rate the S above all of those wonderful motors (at least as an overall package).

I saw a Yellow Jap import for (private) sale in Caterham High St about 18 months ago - wouldnt have been yours by any chance????

Great to hear - especially as Evo this month once again failed to rate the s2k in a 15-30k sports car 'drivers' test!!
- but at least it made the list I suppose!

...and they were testing in the wet....and the s2 is never going to compare to Evos and STi's under those conditions....but as you say the s2k as a complete package is right up there....

The problem, if it can be described as a problem is that the Evo is such a competent car that it loses its fun factor, all the electronic gadgetery on it make it a n easy car to drive very fast but isnt half the fun and fright finding and passing the cars limits and having respect for them?

Just my thoughts on this one, I remember reading many a review about the Mitsubishi 3000GT which on paper was an awesome car but nearly everone said they were uninvolving to drive, 4WD, Traction Control, Active Aero, Active Yaw control, it had the lot but that was its downfall.

I love my S in the dry, its never been anythig but awesome, in the wet it demands (and gets) mucho respect.

Ive always been one for changing my car frequently and this thought has crossed my mind a lot recently but when I look at whats available I just cant bring myself to part with it.

A 996 C4 is the only car I would consider swapping it for (well maybe a 3.2 NSX) but at the moment they are demanding too much cash so im happily sticking with my S.

Good Luck with your new car.
