Default Wet driving & on limit testing

With reference to the thread about wet driving, does anyone know of any airfields, fields, tracks etc. that we can put our 'skills' to the test in a safe manner, whether organised or not.

I'm looking for somewhere in kent/sussex/surrey where you can just turn up & try your car for half an hour etc. Essentially just low speed testing (e.g. a 20/30/40 mph type thing etc.)

Track days tend to be pricey & often you have to book etc. and we can't tell what day it'll be wet either!!!! Airfields have the run-off areas (i.e. loads more tarmac!!) but tracks don't, so airfield type places are preferable.
