So I was looking at some Ohlins DFVs for my car...

clearly their UK disti cant be arsed to deal with me.

Not sure how a 33% increase in price happens just like that. Perhaps someone could enlighten me?

Thing is the company did deal with you?. If you see a deal and wait you risk losing out on that deal.

if someone is making a pricing enquiry then they are a potential customer, surely the dealer should be doing everything they can to win that business, even if it is just being transparent and providing info.

Nothing wrong. But 33% more than expected to pay.

Nitron are also a very respected suspension company up here with Ohlins a competitor some may say... So maybe worth checking them out too.

Nitrons start at £2,394 so are presumably out of budget (based on the similarly priced Ohlins being out of budget).

How about the well-liked KW v3?

http://www.europerfo...;sub_category=1 Haven't heard of these guys before
Or http://balancemotors...50005-1693.html who I have heard of

Or the ever-reliable Bilstein PSS9 at around £1,800

tbh, the budget was about £1000 but given that ohlins werent 'that' much more i thought that i would just stretch my budget a bit.

but then they increased in price to £2k, so thats not happening now.

KW were another on the list. my boss runs clubsports on his M3 track car and they feel superb, I would obviously be looking closer to the v3 or v2 range but am unsure which of those to consider.

then there is the bilstien PSS B14 which are pretty much bang on budget.

the H&R mono tube coilovers arent much more than that either. its difficult finding info on what to get really as most people on the forum seem to be just chucking £600 coilovers on their car which i cant see being better than stock tbh.

Have you tried a set of £600 coilovers?

On the road, granted the ride comfort might not be as good, but on track my £500 meisters (second hand) have been surprisingly good! I would try a car with the £600 coilovers before making a judgement based on 'surely they can't be better'
