What car ramp do you use? (With car ramp I mean something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/XXR-PORTABLE...ords=car+ramps)

Yeah, you won't get an S2000 to drive up the ramps you linked to - I ended up with a low entry jack and axle stands. Would love a set of the ones PTR linked to above though !

they look a bit scary - hydraulic leak do they just come down or is there some kind of locking mechanism?

Halfords Car Ramps

I hate driving onto them so I only tend to use them by lifting the car with a jack and then lowering it onto them.

Get a J's rear bumper and you can reverse onto them!

They should have parachute valves, if they haven't don't buy one

I just use cheep Halfrauds ramps too,got 2 sets I just jack car up and lower car onto them for safe working,got long reach quick trolley jack from halfrauds too goes very high and designed for 4x4
recommend drive onto wooden blocks to help trolley jack entry first..

Low entry trolley jack and axle stands is my preferred option

Not exactly a "ramp" nor inexpensive but very useful especially when working alone.
