according to the FAQ its 10W-30 (or 10W-40), 75W-90 GL-5 and 5W-80 GL-4 for engine, diff and gearbox, respectively. i think the honda recommended 10W-30 is pretty rare though, none of the big guys seem to sell such a grade! if you're lucky like i was you might find a garage with a gallon or two spare!

thanks for that. with me using a richmand diff. would that be the same grade as the standard s? it's a tad noisy. just wondered if i change grade might make it a tad quiet?

Can't belive I'm reading this!

1. Go to the tech FAQ for info on oils
2. SEARCH and you will find
3. Most of the info you have been given so far is wrong.

SEARCH and you will find.

i'm just quoting from the FAQ itself-what was wrong?

 did look at the section. but was just asking if i different grade diff oil would be needed as im using a richmond diff.if theres anything to make it abit more quiet?

It shouldn't be too noisy, but a thicker or higher quality oil will quieten it down, although i'm not recommending you do that as it affects performance too.
