Can't belive I'm reading this!

1. Go to the tech FAQ for info on oils
2. SEARCH and you will find
3. Most of the info you have been given so far is wrong.

SEARCH and you will find.

i'm just quoting from the FAQ itself-what was wrong?

O.K. Engine oil you said 10w30, thats for running in only, Car needs 10w40 or more commonly available 5w40 (Castrol edge?)(5.5L)
Diff 75w90 (.7L)
Gearbox you said 5w80 read further on its actually 75w80 (1.5L) or Honda MTF.

Plugs NKG PFR7G-11S

Richmond sell a staggering 75w140 diff oil guess that would keep it quiet? And opie do some similar

my bad. the Honda manual doesn't say anything about changing oil grades after running in so I wasn't aware. the FAQ says about switching from mineral to fully synth, but again nothing about what grade to switch to after 6k miles.

for what the FAQ is about, it does have inacuracys in it which dont get updated/merged!
you do have to search the whole thread to get the right info!

Or serch "oil".

And searching the whole FAQ is a brilliant idea, just think how much you can learn!
Opie did a great thread on oil last year as a great write up followed by loads of questions and answers.
OK so I was a grumpy old git this morning, but the search is there for a reason, you (OP) got let off lightly by the mods. :argh: I feel a sticky coming on, "Thinks you need to know first"

the whole point in the first part of the FAQ is for accurate info, surely?

you search, you find the info, presume it's right being in the *THE* FAQ that everyone refers to, yet you have to search the FAQ for the correct answer? seems a bit ironic :p
additional info is one thing; typos really should be corrected if it's going to be of any use.
