What's the current feedback on 17" RE050's?
Im due new tyres and guess that people have been running these long enough to give some feedback on them.
I currently have Toyo's and must have had about 10 sets on various cars! I don't plan to go back to these though.
I drive the car pretty much flat out wherever and whenever possible, so none of you posers saying how nice they are at 30 mph I want to know how they perform when being punished!
Anyone run them on track and had any issues?
My only other thought was the Yoko's which Chilled is running or R888's - but realistically wont be doing any track days until spring now, so that might not be the most sensible winter option, as they just won't get upto temp even on my 40 mile round trip.

Yoko's have appalling road manners. They're twitchy, tramline, shite in the damp and generally not good on the road. Fantastic in the dry on the track.
RE050's are great on track, but fade after 10-15 minutes on track at my sort of pace. However they don't fade too badly. Overall I really rate the 050's but I just wanted something to really make me go faster.

That will do for me then...
If it was the Evo I wouldn't hestitate in going for Yoko's or R888's but I think I will just go with the Bridgestones. 95% of my driving will be on roads anyway, albeit fast ones.

mark(mb) you coming to donington on the 15th of december.
Although I suspect by mid december you'll have bought yourself a bike or something by then
Glad to hear you're keeping your S2k though.
RE050s are really very good tyres but they harden up as you get to 3mm so start to behave alot more twitchy.

Not the AVS Sports!
They are the best tyre I have ever had on the S.

I think you can get away with the A048R in the summer. And whilst the car was ok on the road in them, it was going back to RE050's that made me realise how uncivilised the A048R's were on the road.

Unfortunately not Moto / Boab, but I hope to go on several next year.
Boab, when do you get the beast?? Happy to share my thoughts on K20 after pouring hours over it! Its a bloody great engine, and better than the F20C for its flexibility and mpg. Responds well to bolt ons too!
