Default Wheel refurb

I need to refurbish the wheels as the usual corrosion under the clear coat has got a hold.

Any reason why they couldn't be powder coated?

Anyone done it? There must be !

I can have them done at £40 a wheel in "german" silver, a bluey silver rather than the bronze tint of the Honda one....or perhaps the bronze tint is the clear coat going off !!

£40 a wheel sounds about right. I'm going to get mine done at the start of Spring time thinking a darker colour like anthracite.

My track wheels are OEM 16" ones shot blasted and powder coated black. If you have the wheels on and off a lot the powder coat round the holes takes a beating but other than that they're pretty tough.

I don't know what to do with mine, my S is ladyboy blue so not sure which colour would sit well with the colour.

At the same time I like the SHINY-SHINY look of diamond cut alloys but i'm just concerned i'll be getting them done again in a years time. Decisions decisions.

Caseh, maybe a dark shadow chrome finish would look good on lb blue. Find an alloy wheel restorer in your area and see what colour charts they have

As bright silver as possible on LBB. That's what s2k_Nut's hoping for and I agree. I don't think a dark colour would work; it looks great on a Silverstone though.

MB - could you please post a photo of your simulated diamond cut? That's what I'm hoping to achieve this year. I've searched high and low but can't find your shot again.

Same colour car, so I am going for silver powdercoat ...decided against having them recut, too expensive and not durable enough in our salt encrusted country.

Anyway, the fronts went in to the powdercoaters today, tyres ordered, brake disc replacement almost complete on the front...

Could you get a photo or two up once you've had them done? Think that may help push me in one direction without changing my mind every 2 mins.
