I think you are possibly correct, I have been thinking about satin black for the past couple of hours !! I will over the weekend....hopefully I will finish the wheel centres and get a better feel about it once they are on.

Looks good, there is just something about the std 16" wheels that I like, IMO the best wheel for the S2.

Cheers.....Tony..

I like the look of that, nice and new.
Thanks, trying to keep it clean will be a nightmare ! I have the same problem with my GT6 wheels so I am hoping the powdercoat on the S2000 will be tough enough to stand up to everyday use...

A coat of Gtechniq C5 properly applied ( inside and out ) will make cleaning a doddle

Oh yes

If properly prepped and applied C5 will stop brakedust and tar sticking to your wheel's

Since I started using it a couple of year's ago all my wheel's have ever needed is a rinse with the pressure washer and a quick wash with normal shampoo

I'm pondering doing my winter wheels myself.

I have the time atm so might as well have a tinker rather than splash £200. I'm thinking back though.

Anyone done a DIY refurb?

You'll do a great job on the first, get a bit bored on the second and never quite get around to the other two

I have seen some good cover up jobs that involved masking the tyre, giving the rim a light scrub to key it up and remove flaky lacquer, then using rattle-can spray.

But when you start sanding down, priming and trying to get a "professional finish" it starts being a diminishing returns on effort and materials.

I'd just get a machine sander on there to get rid of the loose stuff and then just spray them black, job done

i've learnt
- this is very trying on the fingers, mine feel like sandpaper now (i normally work in an office)
- my garage is dusty
- masking tape doesnt stick to the tyres (or the shit i have doesnt)
- i prefer the oem 16s in black
