Default Wheels for a beginner

I understand nothing about wheels, except what I like the look of.

What measurements and stuff do I need to know, and what fits the S !!!

the wheels I am looking at come in:

7.0x17
7.5x17
7.5x18
8.0x18
9.5x18

Make any sense to anybody ?

You might need different widths front and back.

All details of the stuff on my car are in my sig. Basically you need the same rolling diameter (wheel + tyre) If you go wider you need to change the offset to make it fits in the arches (& drives proper!) The correct fitments for the S seem to be very limited in the UK with out importing exotica!!

Try this thread for some options!

So does that info in my first post, not give us enough to figure out if they will fit?

no, you need to know the offset too. (i.e how far the hub of the wheel is from the in/outside of the rim of the wheel) If it is in the wrong place, the wheels might rub on the inside, or poke out too far from the body.

Extract from my sig

(Front-8x18 +45 offset, Rear-9x18 +55 offset)

These just fit and occassionally rub on the front wheel arch liner!

From your list...
7.5x18 - Front
8.0x18 - Rear

Is what you want, imho.

8.5x18 rear would have been better, but I suspect 9.5x18 may be too much. (although I know a fella with 10.0x18 )
It all depends on the offset really. You see, if they "stick out" from the wheel arch too far they maybe considered illegal.
