I'm taking no chances. Should the worst happen and I crunch into the back of a veyron and then ricochet off into a bus queue of people, I couldn't afford to find out I wasn't covered.
Gary how much did it go up declaring nos?

As long as you explain that adding exhaust / air filter add no power and are cheaper to replace than the OEM stuff then you should get away with no increase

Some wont insure you!! I was with Swiftcover and they wouldn't cover me for any "performance enhancing modifications". Fortunately mine was due for renewal about the same time so went to Adrian Flux who beat the previous year's rate including the mod! Happy days

Because of the guff on the K&N site stating an "estimated power gain of 9.56HP" ( ) some insurance companies will see it as performance enhancing and increase premiums or not insuire you at all.

Indeed - guff that just happens to be a smaller gain than the error margin on most dynos - handy that.

As the wife now reads these boards, my answer is "Not as much as you'd think".

Declared because as easy as it would be to rip it off pre-accident, post accident it might be a challenge - what if you're rendered unable to remove it?

Declaring mods is the right thing to do to ensure 100% covered should the worst happen, both for your loss and any damage/loss caused to others.

Interestingly I got a quote last year for how much my premium would go up by if I put an LS1 engine in and it was £80.
