Default Where do I stand with this?

So after months of waiting to get my S back from the workshop, I finally got it back a couple of weeks back after a engine rebuild as one of the big end bearings went
garage told me to take it easy for the first 1000 miles.
done about 250 miles so far then this weekend it went pop again, car sounded awful, pulled over immediately, checked the dipstick and when I pulled it out just steam started pouring out and there was barely and oil inside.
I honestly never heard a car sound that bad before.
The garage that done it I do believe are a good garage and the guy running it is a nice helpfully bloke but I just want to know where I stand with this.
spent a lot of money getting this back on the road and I don't really want to be spending any more...

anyone else been in a situation like this before? what can i do??

given it's not lasted 250 miles i think you stand in the 'sort it' camp

rebuilds of these engines are far from easy and often unsuccessful like this one

Does it not say anything on the invoice regarding warranty?

My experience with cars and stuff going wrong is, They are always the nicest people in the world until they have your money and you come back with a problem.

Really hope you get this sorted as painlessly as possible!

As has been mentioned before, does the invoice state any warranty on it? If so, ask them to honour it.

If not, then keep all receipts and make notes after any telephone conversations. Ask them what they propose to do to fix it. Did you pay be credit card? If so you may be protected by the Credit Consumer Act. Is the garage affiliated to any professional body or trade organisation? If so, phone them up and ask what the code of conduct is for members and how problems should be resolved.

If you think they're a bunch of charletons then tell other S2000 owners to avoid the place, but be sure that is actually the case before pointing the finger.

Finally, this may be a genuine unfortunate incident. If the garage has acted in good faith and if you are happy you're not being fobbed off then you could agree to meet them part way in the cost of further repair. If you go that way then second time around make sure you get some form of guarantee or warranty.

They are a decent garage, recommended by a few people and spoken to the owner quite a bit and he seems a top bloke.
just spoke to him today anyways, he's arranged for the car to be recovered back to the workshop and he's going to have a look from there.

I will have a look at all the paperwork when I get back to check the small print.

the most annoying part is that I just had to wait 3 months to get the car back and its gone pop within 2 weeks, just want to enjoy my S!!

I know you dont want to hear it but the best way to enjoy your s2000 in the near future is to find a decent second hand engine. Rebuilds never seem to work on these engines unless its done with a very good eye for detail. Its the way everyone seems to end up going in the end.
