I think on the Academy Day you'll have little wear on the tyres as it's all about car control, cornering and braking.
You get a 15 min spell on a long track at the end to test your skills. On the cornering exercise you might lose rubber if like me and many others you like to throw the car around, but as it only last for 45 mins, the 5 or 6 runs you get aren't going to be that detrimental.
I'd say as long as your new tyres are bedded in, you'd be fine.

One word of caution........I think you will find that if it is dry at Heyford there is potential to do a fair amount of damage to a new set of tyres - I remember earlier this year MarkB turned up in his sparkley new S having forced Mandy to do the requisite number of miles to run it in on the previous few days. He managed to take a good deal of rubber of the outside edges of his fronts. But then he was driving the car rather hard!
