* Sigh *.

He sent me roughly the same email last week.
I'm expecting to get a similar response next Friday.

'They arrived late today, but will be with him on Tuesday?' - huh? where did they arrive today then?

Unfortunately I can't believe anything he says any more, won't hold too much hope but really hope we get it by next week, I wanted to have this fitted for march

Obviously paying for something mid Jan, you expect to have the thing by march.

*Sigh* ok - another week to wait and see...

He promised me CTL were an authorised Greddy dealer.
And would offer and additional 'CTL' waranty on exhausts outside and in additioon to the Greddy factory waranty.
But was unable to back this up.
I was not able to confirm that they are an authorised dealer as claimed.

Can anyone advise me?

In Consumer Law, their act as importer (assuming that's what is needed to get a Greddy exhaust to you) puts the responsibilities of product defect upon the importer as much as the producer of the product.

The addition of words like 'authorised' have an implication in the process. They have a common meaning that is generally understood by all.

The key issue in your case is if the item has failed whilst in a reasonable time frame. If for example CTL imported the Greddy item many years ago, then the producer (and importer's) responsibilities will have expired.

The importer here (from his track record) will more probably be completely ignorant to his responsibilities that exist as a direct result of him importing, however that does not mean the responsibilities do not exist. They do, and the courts will enforce them. 'Importer' is viewed as 'producer' in the eyes of the law. This is well established.
