Default Will I Fit?

Hi all - as a prospective S2000 owner I am after the input of the knowledgable many!

I am 27 and have had an S2000 itch needing to be scratched for a while now, but a long work commute has made that an impracticality. I am now being relocated much closer to home so the itch has resurfaced!

My only potential issue is that I am 6 ft 5, so am not sure I will comfortably fit in one? Anyone answer this for me?

While I'm here, if I go looking are there any particular issues I should look for? A big part of the reason I want one of these is the legendary Honda reliability - I would be looking to spend about £8-£9k on a pre March 06 car to avoid the tax increase.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

With the top down ... you will have plenty of head room

A friend of mine 'officially a giant' at 6'7 can fit in the car, but driving it I am not so sure, but with lowered rails I think you will be fine I am sure ... there are plenty of people on the forum over 6' but you are a big 'un

I'm just shy of 6'2" and I fit nicely. If you really do have the s2000 itch then you'll make yourself fit . and you'll LOVE IT!

I'm 6ft 4in and fit pretty well, I think it may depend on your build just as much as height.

Don't forget you can get BYS seat lowering kits too.

Had a quick look at the BYS kits; are they easy enough to fit or a garage job?

Thanks for the input thus far chaps - keep it coming!

I'm 6'6" and was absolutely fine...the driving position is very good.

Lower seat rails will give you slightly more room, but not necessary unless you regularly do 3hr + journeys

Here's an idea - trying sitting on one and then taking it for a test drive

My theory is anybody much over 6 foot has probably spent their whole driving life with the knees around their ears, has never known comfort whilst driving and so doesn't miss it.

At 6 foot I always find it quite cramped. When I first drove one, I pushed the seat all the way back, and immediately thought "oh shit" I'm not going to be able to have one of these, but then I discovered you can get an extra half-inch or so beyond the last notch, and that's okay for me. The seat rails lower the seat, but that obviously doesn't help with leg room.

But of course, the answer is, go sit in one, and preferably drive one.

I'm 6'4" and fit fine... I don't have the seat pushed right back either, as I like to be 'closer' to the controls/steering wheel.

But as people have said above, your best bet is to go & drive one, have a play with seating positions before you go out!

I am confident you will be fine...!
