Smile wing mirrors

Ok, so i was a little overly enthusiastic with Langka on my wing mirrors, one of them looks to have lost its clear coat layer and the surface is 'tacky'.

I have tried surgical spirit, and also another application of Langka believing that it was only a residue that needed to wipe off to no joy.

Looks like a respray on at least one wing mirror, but given both have substantial stone chips (hence the langka in teh first place) i may as well get them resprayed.

Question is though, how much should i expect for this ?

oh, and DOH!

(p.s Langka worked beautifully everywhere else though )

Well i have a man on the case who should get me a quote by days end.

Langka is great for smoothing down touch up blobs, and seems to have done a fantastic job everywhere else, which suggests the wing morrors have been painted before ?

bad enough when someone else damages you car, let alone when you do it yourself .

Thanks for the heads up on Langka on the wing mirror
I need to get a couple of chips out of mine.
Any pics of the successful areas?

Fortunately where it worked on the main body work there was no trace left of the touch up areas, so no piccies.

there are a few bigger areas that need some work so i will try and up some before & after shots later. My guess is the results would be stunning on any car that has a decent touch up paint, the honda y52p i have doesn't seem to match the yellow pearl particularly well.

best advice regarding langka is work on small areas at a time (unlike me).

Yeah, i think i will drop them a line too and let you know the response, i am a little peeved as i was gearing up for my first full detailing session on saturday so was Langka'ing the nasties out before the main event.

Only problem i forsee having done a bit of reading it the indy yellow pearl is a SOB to colour match with some people complaining that in low light conditions the pearl takes on a green tinge and can be seen plainly.

hunting around for good body shops in and around nottingham that should be able to take a look and assess the damage, speaking of which, anyone have any recommendations in or around nottingham ?
