Default wire advice

Doing my gauge this weekend.

Now i need some extra wire to connect from the 12v source (using fusebox ignition source) to connect to the gauge

I have some halfrauds 17amp cable with a max 200 wattage. Will this be ok for the 12v source to the gauge? Or will i need another type of wire?

Sorry im a little uninformed with electronics.

Mike

17amp cable is overkill. Thin equipment wire (3amp) would be fine. Dont forget to put an inline fuse on the line if its directly from the battery...

But i would try and find a 12v switched source under the dash to power it so its doesnt drain your battery.

If you dont mind having blue and brown wires just strip some 3A mains cable. If you do want other colours visit Maplins.

Thank you guys, I was going use a: Add-a-Fuse to be safe.

The power source i have found under the drivers dash is a switches 12v source.

Will keep this open for the next 48 hours so I can post any questions without asking further questions.
