Are fuses made for a specific wire gauge
Need to do some rewiring and I only have 8 gauge power wire. Unfortunately I originally wired my amp with 10 gauge. I'd like to reuse the fuse and just rewire the power cable on both sides of it. Is it likely that the fuse will take the thicker wire?
Thanks.
Thanks.

if your question us whether the wire will physically fit into the fuse
holder, it's likely that it will, but it's possible that fuse holder was maxed
out at 10 ga. If your question is whether the fuse can handle the current,
simply changing the wiring to the existing amp will not change the current,
so the old fuse should be fine. Note that if you were reducing the
wire size, you might need a lower amperage fuse to properly protect the
wires.

I was lucky that the original wiring (after closer inspection) was also 8 gauge and not 10 gauge as I had thought so I'm all set :-) Thanks for the help!
