Is It Worth It?
Hoping to move from 'guest' to 'owner' from this Saturday.
Wondered if anyone had any views on the price I'm paying for my first taste of the S2000.

That seems about right, you could probably buy one cheaper. But it's worth paying a premium for a vehicle in good condition. Make sure you have all the receipts for the engine, although the manufacturers warranty period has ended. The engine should be covered until December.
I recently purchased also, your doing the right thing
In my search I found alot of vehicles, as new as 2002 that had received replacement engines due to owners neglecting oil levels. Would owners like to share how much oil there car gets through? I am currenlty paranoid and checking it every other day to try and get a feel for the usage. Having previously owned an oil thirsty Integra Type R and an Accord Type R that never appeared to use a drop, so there isn't a pattern

Oil usage is a much discussed topic here - a search will reveal a plethora of threads.
However your paranoia is healthy - regular oil checks (perhaps once a week rather than every 2 days!!!
) will avoid problems.
As too how much oil an S2000 uses, that is a question with no single answer. Some use loads (mine got through 1ltr per 1000 miles for the 1st 25k of its life, then, overnight, stopped using any
- others have had variations on this experience). Newer cars - especially the 04's appear to use significantly less oil than 00/01/02/03's.
Dont get lulled into a false sense of security - keep checking the oil - there are numerous examples of cars not using appreciable quantities of oil for thousands of miles and then suddenly devouring the stuff again......and then at an indeterminate point, stopping again.
The only safe thing to do is keep a regular check in levels. It's all part of the ownership experience.
(Oh, and buy a funnel!)

Mine goes through phases of wanting no oil for thousands of miles then suddenly 500ml after 600 miles (last weekend) Honda recommend checking it with every tank of fuel.
Thanks for the oil advice! The previous owner reported he checked it reguarly and the car doesn't appear to use much. I guess alot could come down to idividuals driving style
So I best check it weekly
I love it so that shouldn't be too hard to remember, will be out there polishing it every week anyway.
I am glad you mentioned the funnel, won't wait until the day the car actually needs oil to buy one of those now! It's on my shopping list...
