Burning Oil
My S2000 has 1600 miles and was a quart low on oil when I checked the oil when I stopped to get gas. I put in 10w-30.
My question is: Is this something that occurs at first only or does the S2000 continue to burn oil? Should I take it to the dealer? My initial thoughts were to ask them when I take it back for it's first oil change.

This is very normal during break in period. Most owners have noticed the engine stop drinking oil at about 5k miles. Keep checking it.
If you use the search feature there will be alot if info on this.
PS Dont worry about it......

The owner's manual recommends checking the engine oil every time you buy gasoline.
It is a good idea.
Since a few of us have had catastrophic engine failures, and since Honda has blamed owner negligence for some of these (although Honda has absorbed the cost for every short block replacement), I think it is a good idea to check the oil AND DOCUMENT it on the gasoline receipt every time you buy gasoline. Also, if you have to add oil, document it.
If you have to add oil during the first 7,500 miles, add American Petroleum Institute SJ grade 10W-30 mineral oil. Avoid synthetic oil during the first 5,000 to 10,000 miles to permit the rings to seat properly.
The gossip on this column is that those S2000s that burn a lot of oil stop doing this by about 3,000 miles.
The more you use the VTEC's higher rpm cam profile (over 6,000 rpm on the S2000), the more oil you consume. This has continued for almost nine years on my '93 Prelude VTEC, although it never consumes oil during normal driving. The '93 Prelude's higher rpm cam profile engages at 4,800 rpm and the engine redlines at 7,400 rpm, by the way.

Oil consumption is normal on this engine. With proper break-in it should cease at about 5,000 miles. As Barry said keep checking the oil level...each fill-up!
P.S. 5 Stars is just around the corner B-Man (Congrats
