Default Yet another tyre question

Time has come for another set of tyres and I'm trying to get my hands on 225/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A MZ for the front and 245/40/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A MZ for the rear.
I've been in contact with Camskills and they say that the 225/40/17 was never produced only a 215/45/17 But thats the size and spec tyre that was on the front when I bought the car (although it is a Jap inport)

So the question is should I try dropping to a 215 on the front or try get the same size in a different make of tyre?

Has anyone dropped tyre sizes on the front before and did it change the handling by much?

Everyone runs 215's on the front. Did you look in the FAQ?

I did

I was just wondering if I could get the same as I had before?
Think I was more surprised that they never made them lol

It looks like I've no choice but to go with the narrower tyres. It will be interesting to see what difference it makes

Go bigger up front. Rears up there work well and no issues with obtaining them either
