Is your car a black hole for your hard earned cash?!?!

Replaced suspension, clutch, control arm + labour = a reasonable chunk of beer funds but if you like driving it, you don't really mind paying for it. I could get something cheap to run, boring, ultra reliable and utterly souless and i'd be bored stiff even thinking about driving it.
Tinkering is fun
When fuel goes north of £2 a litre I will consider moving on but not until then.

mine's alright. will be spending around 1k in the last 12months.
i think thats expensive
i'd think it different if i was spending £1k of mods, but 'repairs' i don't like forking out for, like tyres or wiperblades.

i 100% disagree.. over the 3.5 years i had mine i had the following issues and jobs done
Brakes - £80
one caliper £110
Servicing £400 ish
Tax £220 a year
Insurance year one £850 year two 720 year three 520
tyres 445 aprox...
new front bumper £100
new 17" alloys £600 ish
Geo £450 ish
so i spent a lot when you look at it like that BUT had no issues with car that were out of the ordinary and with depreciation and running costs its cost about £100 a month on the road all in - i dont think thats expensive ??

Good question,Hope my misses doesnt see this.
Magnaflow Exhaust,
Eibach Springs,
Spoon X-Brace,
Tunaby, front upper strut brace.....Then I drove it for a while.
Rays something-70-something wheels, which didnt fit so replaced with Buddy-Club P1s and Falken 452s,Rays wheel nuts,
Cusco Front/Rear ARBs,Cusco upper/lower rear brace,
Cusco chassis rails,
Full Polybush kit,
Tein monoflex with EDFC kit,
Hi-Spec BBK 360 monster 6 front,320 rear(a nightmare)
Extended wheel studs(see above(Hi-Spec)
Waxoyled all the wheel arches to around 1/2 thick,
Final drive ratio changed by Dixon,
TTS supersport Supercharger kit,
3 defi(oil press/temp and boost)and a A/F Guages,
Garage r Decat,
T1R Rear toe bars,
Geo Setup and service,(not done yet)
I think thats it,I did all the work in a small garage on axle stands and have worked my nuts off,It wont be on the road untill the begining of April so have no adia how will all go together.
Plans for the future...Mmm I may drive it,Some big offset TE37s(if I can widen the arches without it looking too chavy,A Mugan Bonnet,Some Bucket seats and 5 points, and I think that might be it.Oh! I might buy a spare low milage Engine incase my 2009 one goes bang.
I think thats about it,but I could have missed something......I did forget to mention something,I bought a new Mazda2 as a run around so I dont have to use te S2000 in bad weather,Does that count as a mod?
