I am going to be getting the Spoon CAI, but was wondering whether it is worth changing the actual filter for a Spoon one aswell. I undersatnd that the standard set up is very good, so I am not going for an induction kit, just the replacement unit.
If anyone has any views on this it will help.
Thank you

i'm thinking about doing exactly the same as you mate - would also be interested in feedback on this.
only thing about the spoon is that it doesn't give much noise on vtec changeover - i loved the noise difference on my ctr with the injen cai fitted - was considering getting the injen for the S but apparently you need to cut a bit of the floorpan to fit it - don't really fancy that much - vut i guess it wouldn't really hurt and it's not as if anyone is gonna see it.
where are you thinking of buying the spoon from?

I had the Spoon duct on my old S2 and it is a lot noisier then stock and at the VTEC opening point.
Bear in mind, I had a K&N filter fitted already before the duct and it sounds absolutely gorgeous pure midrange (in a tonal sense) sounding sports car.
Throttle response is greatly improved, kangarooing gone and might make 1 or 2 more ponies with the K&N as well.

One of my mates off the DC5 Integra Type R owners site gave me the name his mate who supplies lots of Honda bits. He has the Spoon CAI on order already as he has a few customers with S2K's, so knew it would go quickly. I think I'll go for it as it fits without any modification to the bonnet. I'll let you know what it is like.
His company is T & G Autos in Fleet. They seem to know what they are talking aboutand he races a DC5 Integra Type R, so has a lot of Honda contacts.

Remeber when fitting, you will need to cut a hole in the plastic radiator cover but it really is a piece of p*ss with a stanley knife and takes about 10 minutes.
Just try not to butcher it.

Cheers mate, I was told no cutting was needed! I'll have a look!

You just need to cut a small rectangle out the left hand corner which is almost preformed the way the plastic radiator cover sits so that there is room to feed the duct down to the front grille.
Make sure it sits in correctly once done as you could break the duct when you put the bonnet down. The duct has two small groves at the bottom on each side which fit exactly in the fins once the duct is in place.
If you ask Mikey K nicely, he may post some pictures on here as he has my old car with the duct and K&N still on.
May also be worth getting grille tech grilles as this will stop loads of shite going up the duct as well
