If you want MPG and quicker commuting through traffic buy a moped.

Even THAT is better than a smart!

I had an AA one to replace the S when my immobiliser packed in. Fun for about an hour and then just felt embarrassed in it. Park up and walk away from it, then look back and all you see is a diddy car.

Jazz or something similar would be my choice ...
