i find it funny that chicago has basically run out of their snow removal budget for the year.
thats because the aldermen all voted to give themselves a raise to over 100K/year.
then they ran out of money for public transportation. so they squeezed a little more money away from everything. so now, we're running out of salt because those plow driver leave the spreaders on while at stoplights so they dump bucket fulls of salt in one spot at every other light.
the city's financial shortage aint over yet. we're gonna hear it agian come summer. no money to pay for life guards at the beach maybe?

My S is in the garage all covered up for the first winter in four years and I'm GLAD of it! The snow and road conditions in Milwaukee have been pathetic to the Nth degree. The worst I have EVER seen it. We have the same salt crap problems that you guys down in Chicago have, but the pot-holes are large enough to swallow a Hummer on some streets. Not only that but they fix them by packing some asphalt in the hole with a shovel and just let traffic pack it in. It leaves tarred graval all over the place and it SERIOUSLY pisses me off when I pelted with this crap when I'm in the S2000. I've driven down roads that look like they aren't even paved anymore. This isn't an exageration either!

^^ have you been to chicago yet this year? patching pot holes using a shovel is the norm ever since i've lived in chicago.

good news is that we dont have a salt problem anymore. the city sucks at budgeting so no more money for road salt.
