Default almost got hassled by a cop

i was enjoying the s on friday night when i see a cop passing the opposite direction. no sooner than i can utter 5-0, he busts a u-turn and starts following me. right then it hit me, no front plate. i started laughing when i realized this because when he saw my temp tag he busted another u-turn and went back on his way. do all of you guys keep your front plates on? i wasn't planning on it, but after this incident i think i may have to rethink that decision.

no front plate here. IMO it ruins the look of the car. If I ever get stopped for no plate I would be more than happy to pay the ticket versus having the plate on the car.

I left mine on. I can't see it from the drivers seat anyway, and I sure as hell am not paying more "taxes" to our state.

I got busted for no front plates. It cost me $75. So I have decided to just keep it on. When I got busted it was in Melrose Park.

No Front plate here either. Dealer put it on and I took it off real fast. Have not been hassled yet. The car looks terrible with plate on front!! No front plates on motorcycles, I do not see why I need one.

First, I doubt it happens too often that the police would pull you over for no plate...if they pull you over for speeding, they might add on the plate tax. And even when I have been pulled over for speeding, the cop didn't notice I had no front plate.
Otherwise,
"I'm sorry officer, I didn't know that the front plate was required. When I bought the car the guy I bought it from (used) didn't have the front plate on so I never bothered to put mine on. I'll put it on when I get home" - good chance at just a warning.

I have been stopped only because of no front plate and was issued a ticked. This was about a year ago and not on the S. I probably could have got away with a warning however I was pissed off I got stopped for no front plate so I was being an ass and kind of earned the ticket

Call me old fashioned, but if I were the cop and received the old "ignorance is bliss" excuse I would be writing you the ticket.

But I agree, it probably doesn't happen all the often.

I'll tell you why you need one, b/c it is the law.
