I have been doing extensive research to try to find an OEM front lip for my AP1, Berlina. The problem that I am running into is that the prices are pretty steep and then shipping is an extra kick in the nuts. Still looking for one if you have it PM me.

I've been looking at alternatives to the honda OEM lip just for a cost savings, and I've come up with the Seibon Carbon Fiber front lips. In my research, I have found the pricing to be similar to the Honda OEM piece, these won't require painting and the quality seems to be really good.

I have a friend that has an account with Seibon that I am talking into setting up a Chicago local groupbuy, through his tuning shop that he has. I think if I can get four people that want to buy some seibon product we can offset the price of the freight (normally $100 flat charge per order) but if we can get an order of 2-10 of these, the freight will be drastically reduced and maybe get a price break on the lips as well. I'm still waiting to get the details of this together.

 

i'm actually looking for a lip also, but i don't know if i want a cf piece. especially since it will be the first mod on the car, it might look really out of place on a stock car. also, the oem piece already comes prepainted. so whats the prices that your buddy can get the lip for?

The pricing that I've seen on the Seibon OEM CF lips are around $320-370 plus shipping which is about $100. I'm still discussing with my friend what the out the door price would be and I'm trying to get it around $365-390 shipped depending on how many people want to participate. I'm going to talk with Urmil tonight, because, I'm sure that most people do not know who I am and may not be comfortable working with someone that they do not know. I guess we'll see you guys tonight at Gameworks, and we can discuss this further there.

 

I'm still talking with my friend on these, but it looks like the pricing might be a lot lower than I expected. Just for reference, the merchandise cost would be in the neighborhood of $300 and shipping is the unknown part right now. As soon as I hear word, I'll let you guys know.

 

Just a suggestion. You might want to make sure of the final pricing before you post up anything.

Getting people interested at $300 is cool unless the price somehow goes up to $400 in the end.

I am not trying to rain on your parade, just letting you know how group buys have gone in the past.
