i would have been interested if it was for an OEM lip. is there a way we can get a group deal going on that?

 

Bob - if i am reading this correct it this is for an "OEM style" carbon fiber lip

...or did you mean you didnt want the CF version?

 

Can't really do a groupbuy on OEM lips cuz either way they all come Honda anyway. If I'm off on that, please let me know because, I ideally wanted an OEM lip. The price was a bit high for me though.

 

yea i just don't want the cf version. there was a thread in s2000 talk about how www.hondaacuraworld.com was selling the oem lips for like 358 with free shipping. i emailed them so hopefully they'll get back to me about whether they're still offering free shipping. if they are i'll be sure to let you guys know.

there are fake mugen front ends on ebay for $250

 

Yeah, and fortunately/unfortunately the front ends are REALLY off in dimensions in comparison to the authentic. The "lower lip" on the fake doesn't extend forward like the Mugen one. The "smile" on the fake one also appears to extend further backwards at the trailing end of each side (I think this has to do with perception due to the lack of depth on the bumper cover itself)

Also, there's a lot of support structure on the Mugen one that isn't apart/manufactured/included with the fake. There's no air guide, there's no under panel, there's no metal support, and there's no integrated wheel well covers. All those pieces work in conjunction with the front end for functionality and structural support. Without it, the bumper cover on it's own would be VERY brittle, especially if it was made in fiberglass.

So really, the fake is as much a fake as the new Hyundai Sonata is a fake of the last gen Honda Accord:
