Default Anyone with quaife Diff?

Just curious, I was talking to a friend about our fragile Diffs. He is into the Porshe scene and was telling me to look into a Quaife diff... He said a lot of guys run their diffs for racing and get awesome results and quality. He checked for me and said a diff for a S2K would be about $1300. What do you guys think? My S is bone stock...but I do drive it hard once in a while and want to be able to rip it up and not worry about the diff. I also am interested in super charging it and was thinking of getting the Quaife diff first and then working my way up to the SC.

All info is appreciated!

quaife is the best diff you can buy. My buddy has them on integra that pulls 450whp to the dyno and used them from drag on summer. Never fails or have any issue or anything. Im pretty sure it will do the same thing to the s2k...

The problem with our cars is not only the differential itself, but the housing, gears, caps, etc.

I think you would be better off putting that money into a 4.56 gearset installed into a Comptech reinforced housing and leaving the stock LSD.

Search the FI forum to get some tips from the guys putting down serious hp.

Cool thanks guys... If I'm just going to do some sinple stuff like intake and exhaust, would I be safe with the stock set up? Or would it still depend on driving style?

I'm not sure many people have broken their rear diffs except those with high hp, super sticky tires, or a lot of poorly executed launches.

If you have the money to get a new diff on hand, keep it in the bank. I wouldn't rush out to fix something that has not, and may never be, broken.

Check out Hardtop guy's threads on new 4.56 rear end with the Comptech housings. I have one of his set-ups in my car and so far it has been flawless. After about 50 miles of break-in, it is nearly silent and noticably faster than stock.

You should be ok... I've done probably hundreds of 8k rpm launches since I got my car and the tranny and diff are holding up just fine. However, I have been told by one or two people that my diff should have gone out long ago with the way I drive. I guess just take it easy until you're sure you know what you're doing.
