Default Dead battery

Well, I went out to a dead car today in the cold Guess I left the overhead light on last night after parking my car and the battery is completely dead. Starter cranked the first few times, but after that it was not turning over at all, just clicks. Had someone come out and jump me with the same result....would turn over the starter once or twice, then just click click. Looks like an OEM battery to me, so I guess its pretty old anyways.

I need a new battery, so I'll probably be running to autozone tomorrow. What's everyone running?

I had the autozone duralast? Picked it up for like $80? With core exchange, it was the gold version or something. Couldn't tell you much about it as I had it in the car for about 3 months before I sold it. But worked great. The oem battery was good too, seeing that it was good for 4 years. When I replaced it the battery was still good too, but definitely didnt want to go through the cold winter with it. But that turned out to be a waste.

I probably would have went to get a Sears Diehard but autozone was closer. Don't think batteries make all that big of a difference, but just make sure to get one with enough cranking amps.

If you have the cash, get a lightweight Optima battery

Costco FTW. just crossed shop Pepboys/Autozone/NTB/Sears for another car (died yesterday). Costco was the cheapest and had the longest free replacement period (3 yrs)

I have an optima yellow top and it lasted me about 6 mos before it would no longer hold a charge.

It left me stranded twice (the second time I had jumper cables.)

Do NOT get one.

After not starting my car for 2 days, it was real hard starting again, took about 5 long tries with pauses in between for it to kick in. Even then I had to give it some gas while starting just for it to work. I hate the cold
