Default Driving to/from Gingerman

Anyone with 17x9 setup and decent camber notice your s2000 feel weird on some of those Michigan highways?

My car felt like the rear end was wagging around. Almost like I was driving on two low pressure/flat rear tires. My friends s2000 with brand new bushings all around was doing the same thing.

I was just wondering if my decision (both our cars) to run 0° of toe in the rear is affecting the stability of the car. I don't remember it being so pronounced last year, which is another thing that's got me

Ohh, also, when it's warm out with hot sun the tar lines (to cover up cracks) in the road make the car act similar.

ANNNNNND, there was a section of road in Michigan that had those lines cut into the pavement, remember? In a construction zone if I remember correctly. They were cut in the direction of the car and kind of zig zag'd back and forth. Those lines made my car steer all over the place!

My Land Rover wiggles on grooved cement roads, I've not noticed it on the S, but it's definitely there on the LR. Very nervy sensation in the LR and then when the road surface changes to asphalt it's fine again.

I think it's the width of the tires and the tire compound, not necessarily the alignment, but I could certainly be wrong. Our Wrangler doesn't do it on the same stretch of road.

Mine does it with 255 ZIIs, but not 245 V12s and I get the car aligned every time I switch between the two sets of wheels/tires.

So you feel it wiggle around on the stickier/wider tires? I really don't feel it around town, I didn't even notice it until I was 1/2way to Gingerman.

It's more of a tread pattern/compound issue than width, IMO.

My Audi doesn't suffer from it and the tires on it are sticky and meatier than the ones on my S. Speed is a factor, I only notice it above 60mph.

I've noticed the same thing too in my s2000 if I take the South route (94).

If I take the North route (96) all is fine. It's really weird.

Yeah it's much more pronounced over 60mph for sure. Well at least I'm not the only one. I also noticed a little goofy feeling coming out of turn 10 a little shallow. As I crest the hill if I'm not all the way over it wiggles just a bit like it does when I'm on those Michigan highways. Only there though, not anywhere else on the course.

Also I'm on the Z2's this year vs the Z1's last year where I really didn't notice it nearly as much. So I think the tread pattern theory could be spot on. I also (not sure if it matters) noticed the Z2's sidewall doesn't feel as strong as the Z1's. It's a really great street tire for the price, I hope they're not getting cheap on the quality.
