I've got my tickets already. I'll be camping in lot #2. I plan on getting there early.

I'm going to get tickets online, but what section should I get seats in? I have no idea what's good or whatever. Any advice would be appreciated? like should I get section b or section b box or what?

Also is it worth getting admission for saturday?

A couple years ago I went with a friend. He has some friends in a Ferrari club and we got to park in the Ferrari paddock. One Honda Accord among all the ferraris. Interesting sight.

To answer your question, we sat at turn 1 and the view was great. I think the tickets were about $80 where we were. Bring earplugs.

And I agree, the preceding days are cool. Interestingly enough, that's the first time I sat in an S2000. It was on display in Honda's tent.

Ear plugs are for girly men.

I have the info from the Speedway that I was waiting for. As soon as I can get it posted, I will send a link.

I would go for Sat. The qualifications session on Sat. this year is (at least for now) such that the cars will be set up to run as fast as possible. The second qualification session on Sunday before the race will have the cars set up for the race -- heavier fuel load, etc.

Also, the seating is open, so you can sit wherever you want. I think its fun to sit in a place different from where your race seats will be. (I like to sit around turns8-10 as my seats are above turn 13 right as it leads onto the straight). Or you can sit with the Columbians across from Juan Montoya's pit and chant "Mon-toy-a, Mon-toy-a" and boo Michael.

Personally I can't get enough of the sound of F1 engines at 19,000 RPM, so I will likely even go for Friday practice as well. I might pass on the pit "walkabout" but a bad day at the track beats being at work.

If you don't mind bringing your own seat, the mounds at the end of the back strait are decent. I like it because you get pretty close to the cars for a good look and it isn't loud either since the cars are in the braking zone.

If you want cover and sitting in the shade, I'd see if you can get anything in Stand E penthouse, Stand C penthouse, or Stand A penthouse.

If you want a little less price, and don't mind the sun (or the rain if it rains) I would suggest trying one of the new Terrace stands (turn 6 and turn 10). Those stands face north so you won't be looking into the sun,

I'd avoid the tower terrace and esp. the North Vista

Here is the F1-Indy deal for S2000 folks that GChambers mentioned in his post:
