ap1chick> i think it's pretty much between V1 and Passport.

V1 is little more expensive ($399) and available only online.
Passport is about $70 cheaper and available every where.

Folks in the forum are happy with both, and V1 being appraised higher.

if i get it, it will be V1. just wondering whether to get it.

I will definetely look into the Passport in the near future. I dont actually need anything extavagant just something that works fairly well. Hopefully I wont get any tickets for the time being.

ap1chick> i think your way of thinking is like myself year or two back when i picked up UNIDEN, this is basically a digital compass with grocery/convenient store detector; it does great job detecting those, and guess i will never starve or run out of gas...waste of $100.

also anothing to consider is that for my last two tickets, i was in the similar situations like YellowS2kPwr where i got my stupid tickets on my daily just going to work...it wasn't even on my weekender and wasn't even trying to speed... i would've felt much better if i got my ticket doing 120 on 55...and i belive a good radar could have prevented this...

therefore, i have decided to order it. Thanks for letting me make up my mind, ap1chick.

One more thing... at one point I had 2 radars in my car. A V1 & the Bel Tronics. In my experiance, they both sucked... read::: I tried the radar route a long time ago but it only made me speed 10x more than I do now and many times just as the radar went off, the cop clocked me at 80-90-100-110-120-130 and etc. 1 second before.

I let you make up your mind? really? well gee, ur VERY WELCOME!

Actually, you have a good point there but I really do agree with Vassil..I think i would also be speeding more but then again a radar WOULD be helpful. gosh im lost too now.

"the cop clocked me at 80-90-100-110-120-130 and etc. 1 second before."

last two tickets, i got was under 45, i think at this speed, pehaps, there will be a warning a few seconds before clocking...

On a side note:::: I think I've figured out why I speed most of the time in the s2000. I have the airbox cover off, and I'm obsessed with the sound at around 5-6-7k rpms and I tend to wind out 2nd gear into those rpms all the time just to hear the sound. I need to put that cover back on because if I keep getting pulled over for speeding every week, there goes the good ol license, and I'd die without driving.... (I'm used to driving 150-200 miles/day usually)
hahah .. i know someone else that loves that sound too...specially when he goes through tunnels or viaducts

I actually took mine off for one day and decided to put it back on because I'm thinking "why loose power...just for a roar?"

For me it was always too late. You gain a sense of false security when you get a radar. But you know, try it. It might work for you

And when that bitch starts going off ALL THE TIME you will start ignoring it. Then the real trouble begins. Thats just my experience again.
