Genuine Honda OEM tail light
hey guys, can someone tell me how do i differentiate a gunuine honda oem tail light from a replica/fake/aftermarket?
the reason i ask is this. i brought my car to a shop to tint my tail light. when they wetsand and buff it, the plastic cover cracked on both tail light. the owner told me it's due to overheat when they wetsand and buff it. however, he's such a gentleman to take up the responsibility and offered to replaced my tail light. we agreed that he will replace them with a new honda oem set. can anyone tell me how to make sure that i'm getting the right tail lights?
also, i'm considering to negotiate with the owner to get me ap2 tail light. if he's ok with that, anyone in the chicago area has done this mod before? i might need some help on this.
thanks guys!!!

There's definitely a few people in the area who have done the AP1 => AP2 taillight swap, but I can't think of who exactly off the top of my head.
As far as genuine / Honda OEM tail light, the clear plastic should have a little "HONDA" written on it. That being said, I'm not sure of any aftermarket tail lights available for our car, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

yea look on th eright hand side of the taillight .. as i recal the ap2 lights i have and ap1 taillights.. Both say Honda made in Japan.
I however also have not seen or heard of aftermarket tailights.. recently i have seen headlights.

thanks for the information guys.
update: the owner of the shop told me that he would replace them with used AP2 lights since it's cheaper than getting the new AP1 light (as he previously promised me). will definitely recommend this shop on s2ki if they stand up to their promise.

I still have yet to do my conversion.. i may not . I know there is a thread that shows you how to hack up an ap1 to fit ap2 taillights..
When done id love to see.. it may convince me to do this project as well.
