It's the single most-scary concern about driving the S. The built-in rollover bar would be of no protection in an accident like yours, and it would likely be lights-out Irene. I think we all trust that the lower center of gravity and outstanding reaction time will save our butts. I'm in no hurry to find out. Glad you're okay .
Dunno, our windshields can hold up a lot.

Would love to see someone take a totaled S (from a rear ender or something) and test the windshields strength.

I'm sure you have seen the pictures of S's that have rolled and their windshields are only just bent.

That looks terrible, glad you were able to walk away from it! Hope your holiday weekend goes much much better.

Glad to hear you're ok. Hopefully they find the dbag who caused this and you can go after his insurance.

Were you ticketed or were the witnesses words enough to convince the officials that it wasn't your fault?

Glad to hear you're ok! Yes Airbags do smell, and leave a weird gritty floury film/powder everywhere too.

Thank God you walked out without any major injury!

I'm also glad you came out of the accident without major injury. I will also echo the comments regarding VW's being built like tanks. My brother-in-law rolled my sister's Jetta with 3 total passengers and none of them had a scrape.
