HPDE - Grattan Raceway - Friday - October 12th
We'll be running our 27th event at Grattan on Friday October 12th. This is an HPDE, not wheel to wheel racing. We run small safe run groups and offer a lot of track time in a comfortable enviroment.
The day includes 45 cars. Each session is 20 minutes long and we run 3 sessions per hour. A catered lunch if provided, along with corner workers and an ambulance.
We will have a classroom session in the morning and 5 instructors will be available for tips and ride alongs.
For this event we will run a novice, intermediate, and advanced group. There is only passing along the long straight with a point by except in the advanced group where we allow passing along the front and back straight.
We stress safety, a good time, and common sense driving that allows everyone to enjoy their cars.
We strive to keep track time to a maximum. We have rules in place to keep cars flowing on and off the track. Our biggest comments on the events are how well organized they are and how much track time you get.
Things start to thin out about 2-3pm and once we get down to a certain number of cars we run open track. If you stick around until 5pm you can easily get 3 hours of total track time in.
If your a novice looking to get out on the track this is a great event. Everyone is safe and keeps things in check. We all are driving our personal cars, most DD's, and want to drive home in one piece.
The cost is $165 for the day. Again that includes:
8 20 minute sessions
Catered lunch(subs, pop, pizza, ice cream, etc)
Corner workers at every other corner
Ambulance on site
Its a great day and a fantastic track. These started out as a work event(I work at Chrysler) and has grown from there.
