If I remember correctly I met you at Urmils UBAB. Your Evet or Avet or something like that?

All years are good but here are a few things to think about

00-01 = Plastic rear window

04 = 8K red line

02-03 =

hey im rockin the plastic rear window! its pimp yo!!!
lol

id say go for 00-03, cant go wrong, all depends on how much you have to spend!

i love my 01 s2k!

but if i had more to spend when i bought her, i would have opted for the 02-03 for the glass rear window, and the tweeters in the door panels (which i just learned today that they had lol )

between 00-03 there are very minimal changes,
04-05 changed a decent amount (2.2L engine(lower redline), redesigned front/rear bumpers and headlights/tail lights, 17" wheels, little stronger rear end, better syncros, small interior changes (seats are a little different, center consol is a little different), and thats about it

06 is drive by wire, programable ecu, etc.

youll love whatever year you get!!!!

I have a MY01, and I personally feel it is probably one of the best MY out there. Here's why:

Plastic rear window: though it's a bit of a pain to keep nice, it's much bigger than glass
MY00 and 01 had the stiffest springs
I like the AP1 center console over the AP2
I like the black radio door instead of the aluminum one
and I like the 9k red line

I agree with everything except:

[QUOTE]00-01 = Plastic rear window

I'd say keep your eye out for one of the already heavily modded ones on this forum and get a boosted one for a bargain.

If you're bargain hunting go for at least an 02. If you can afford one, OR just like the overall updates and 17" wheels go for an 04+

02-03 is a best bet.

The glass rear window is much better than plastic,
More durable, defroster, easier to clean, won't crack, etc...

And no offense to the 00-01 owners, but not a fan of the peeling shift knob trim and carpeted console.

You can find bargains on AP2's as well. Just have to look.

I disagree. If AP1 is what you're going after, I definitely think the 2000 or 2001 is a better car. The only thing better on the '02-'03 is the map on the ECU (which is backwards compatible on any '00 or '01).

The top as a whole should never be dropped or raised under a certain temperature, regardless of plastic window or not. For the two years I drove my S2000 without a hardtop and with a plastic window, I've not needed the defroster. Once the cabin gets warmed up, the plastic is as clear as can be (depending on how you've maintained it). The glass is easier to clean, that's for sure...but when the plastic one is clean, there's more natural light in the cabin than in an S2000 with the glass window.

And no offense to the 00-01 owners, but not a fan of the peeling shift knob trim and carpeted console.
No offense taken by me, at least...I think for the AP1, the 2000 and the 2001 are the only S2000's worth having. However, if I could get the F22c motor and rear end with a MY2000 AP1 chassis, interior, suspension, and transmission...that'd be my perfect S2000.

BTW, I'd much rather take the spartan carpetted center console for the more hardcore minimalist look (something that was designed into the '00 and '01 hand assembled S2000), than take the cheezy and cheap looking vinyl cover that comes from Honda; same goes for the half leather, half metal '02+ shift knobs. As far as I know, whatever issues the '00 and '01 knobs have, the '02+ should have the same. They didn't change anything about the aluminum portions of the knob.
