It's that time of year again..
My S is now under cover sitting in my garage...yes, it was a sad day yesterday. For this year's storage I bought one of them battery tenders so I will not be starting it up every other week as I did last year. From what I can tell, this'll be better. Now I just have to hope these next few months go by quickly. It hasn't even been a full day yet and I already miss it...how many others out there have called it a year as well? Why don't I live somewhere where I can drive it all year round? Oh well, it just makes the anticipation of spring time that much sweeter for me...
Forget that...you can drive it year round here....I will be switching out the stock rubber for some all season rubber I have sitting in the garage....I may switch out the modded suspension in lieu for the OEM suspension (because Palatine Rd expressway is nothing nice on my way to work)....but we'll see.

What are you putting on for the winter? I need to do something soon before it decides to really snow. I have been lazy and a little poor and now the inclement weather is upon us. Argh......I hate cold!!!!!

S2KGirl,
I will let you know my tire selection once I get home today. It's cheap rubber that sees me through snow and icy roads. I think I spent a whole $300 for a set of four tires, mounting, and balancing last year. They were on the car for about two months and only saw three or four snow days.
I shopped around for the tires I bought last year and found that I could have probably gotten away with spending a $100 less for the same tires.
ChiS2K,
As far as car washes....in my old neighborhood, that's what I was known for. Washing all the neighborhood cars in sub-freezing temps.
For the most part, if I had to drive the car through salty slush, the S2000 goes into an automatic car wash....no not for a whole car wash...only the underside spray. For a price of $3, this fully automatic wash (Turtle Wax type of facility), would jet spray the underside with a hot sudsy solution.
However, once a month, I'd fire up the hot air heaters, close the very nicely sealing garage door and run a hose line from the laundry room faucet to the garage. The car would get a nice warm solution massaging bath by my hands and then a nice dry towel rub down to dry her off. By the time I was finished with the wash, the air in the garage was warm enough for me to wax the car.
The next day, the car would get jacked up to get all the gunk from the wheels and the wheel well. I'd say that on any given day in winter, my car definitely has the possibility of being cleaner during the winter than during the summer.
Oh yeah...if XVIPER can do it, Chicago winters should be a breeze. BTW, do they use salt or sand up in your province?

I do the same thing. I clean that baby in the winter, better than the nicer seasons. I have some Blizzaks for the winter. I might put them on this weekend. I can't have my car sit in the garage for more than 2 days and not miss it (its like an addiction). I need a fix, all the time
. So I dont think I could do without my car for the winter. Ok Im done ranting.
