i raced that silver ap1 in the last picture you're talking about dustin. she was at blackhawk last year with her dad who races a red mr2. i'm happy to say that a cr IS faster than an ap1 around a track

It depends on the club and the type of event. For our HPDE's factory roll over protection is adequate to be allowed on track.

I think it's probably less abusive to track the car and maintain it appropriately than to only street drive it and neglect it a little. I change the oil in my engine after every event, bleed the brakes before every event, change the trans fluid after every other event. You just have to step up the maintenance appropriately for how you use the car.
At most events, including ours, you are free to come in and out as much as you want if you are worried about pushing the car hard for an extended period. A lot of people will take a couple of laps to just cruise the track and let brakes and engines cool a little.
You should sign up for the Milwaukee Mile event. You'll be hooked!
