Default Mueller Honda..Diff experience

Has anyone taken their S2000 with a blown diff to them. Mine went today after I had already taken the car there for service for a noise that they said was not a big deal. They have been pretty good to me but I dont know if they would cover it under my hondacare warranty. I would hope so because they did not figure it out when I took it in about 1.5 months ago.

Its not the dealers choice what Hondacare covers or not. I would take it back to that same dealership since they were the ones that gave your faulty advice.

I didnt realize you were local...I just responded to your thread in S2000 Talk.

Again, FYI, your exhasut and CAI could cause your Hondacare claim to be denied.

there are several locals here with similar experiences.

get your car back to stock if you can

good luck

Actually, the dealer's presentation has a lot to do with how the Honda Care rep. will take light on the story. Many dealers do NOT help to paint a pretty picture for the owner.

Hey guys. Thanks for the call back urmil. My phone battery died waiting for the tow truck and I did not want to bug you too late. I dropped the car off this morning and my service advisor said that it should be covered under warranty and that an inspector is coming by to take a look at it but that I should really not worry about much. I will do what it takes to not get jerked around by this situation. This car has never seen the track and from those who know me, they know that I do know how to drive the car. What would bother me about the whole thing is if they decide to charge me when I previously took it into them for the noise. I will keep you all posted.

Let's re-phrase....the exhaust and CAI could be cited at EXCUSES for denial of claim.

I doubt, as much as the HondaCare representative does, that the CAI and the exhaust was really the cause to whatever the failure was.

PS Lee: you have PM.

...And I didn't imply that you implied anything. I was just adding more detail.

As for it being a diff failure, after last night's conversation with BoyRacer, he wasn't sure if it was his trans or his diff.

Well, here's a little MORE clarification:

We need to stop calling what Hondacare sells a "Warrenty" it is an insurance policy. If your car breaks, the insurance company pays to fix it. The terms of your insurance policy state that ANY modification to the car will void your policy.

There is absolutly no requirement to prove that the modification caused or contributed to the failure. The Hondacare insurance policy is NOT a warranty. The factory warranty has certain legal protections (like the Magnessun/Moss act) that the Hondacare insurance policy does not afford you.

Good luck.
