Default New Silver '02 in Ohio!!!

That's right! I got the call today and picked her up after skipping out on work early. Too bad the boss said I'm not allowed to call in "sick" tomorrow.

Oh well. I will just deprive myself of lunch and go for a drive instead.

Many thanks to Tony and everyone else at Immke Honda! These guys rock (they were the only ones to let me test drive an S2000 last fall)!

Oh, almost forgot... my first top down conversation:

Dudes in Mitsubishi: "Hey, that's a Honda???"
Me: "Yeah... an S2000."
<light turns green>
Mitsubishi: "Hold up, hold up, that's sweet!"
Me: "Thanks, I just got it today!"
Mitsubishi: "Now go get laid!!!"

Well, if I have to...

Welcome aboard bro............

did you get the red interior or the black??

did you try Roush for a test drive?? They had a red '01 I took out several times. Immke let me take out a Spa last fall also.

Break her in slowly. I just got mine last Thursday and have a little over 200 miles.

Thanks, I sure will!

I was just up that way getting onto 270 from 161 and saw a new Mini on the road! First one I had seen in person. Those things are pretty funky, but in a good way.

Have fun!

I'll have to research that first. I know nothing about alarms other than that many folks on here have not been impressed with the optional system that Honda offers.
Congrats. I got the base model as well, no options (so far) and the glass window was the reason why I wanted to wait for a 2002 instead of buying a used 2001 model...

I just bought the rear speakers from Lucid Automotive (.com). Choose the Polk Bundle and deselect the front speakers, I think the total came up to $220 plus S&H. They shipped the same day that I ordered, and I got them yesterday. Will probably have to wait until the weekend to install them, though.

I personally think you can save some money by skipping the alarm. if someone wants to get into your convertible, they will. And ask yourself, if an alarm goes off in teh neighbourhood, do you even care? I have the same expectations from others.

If I'm looking to upgrade all of the speakers to something a bit nicer than stock, but I don't want to replace the head unit (yet), what would you recommend? I haven't asked Lucid yet. Maybe I should shoot him an email or PM?

On the alarm, you're probably right. It would suck to be broken into only to think, what if I had an alarm? But it probably is a waste just for a small bit of peace of mind. Incidentally, I have never heard a car alarm go off in my neighborhood. I would definitely notice if one did, although I would bet that my own garage is the safest place I will ever park my S2000. So, I'll probably hold off on that for a while and read up some more on some of the aftermarket stuff. In the meantime, I'm eyeing a Titanium Voodoo shift knob from Rick's. Mmm...

Congrats!!!! Now you get to start to work on it. I put Kenwood 3 ways in the doord and their high end 2 ways in the rear. sounds much better with the stock radio. I have a 02 spa and have clear side markers and have cleared the headlights. Exhaust is next. Have fun putting the boot on, what a pain in the a@#.

See you around.

Yeah, the boot was a bit odd. I put it on for the first time tonight to grab some pics to send to my brother who is away in the Army. I remembered it was a huge faux pas to take pictures of a convertible with the top up, so I figured I should rip open the plastic bag the boot came in and go to town.
