I haven't been keeping track of what's going on with the S2000, and can't really find decent information.

I obviously haven't been on in a long long time, are they still going to make them?

Are the Indy guys still getting together and going through tires twice a year?

Cool, last I heard there was a s2000 / civic type merge. I guess the year end speculation continues, and they end up doing another.

As with everything, it depends how you drive and how far you drive. The consensus on the factory tires are about 15-23k. I personally have 18.7k miles on them and the back tires will HAVE to be replaced next spring (no reason to replace them now that it will sit all winter). All tires of this type are not long lasting on all modern sports cars, it you want to play, you got to pay.

If your costs for the car are so burdensome that tire cost will put you over the edge, maybe you should get a Miata and be a little more fiscally responsible. This is not meant to be flipant, just what I consider good advise.

I remember thunderchicken used to be a pretty busy member here on s2ki, way back in the day.

Hows it going?

Not too bad. I hadn't been on in a while, and last I saw there was a big thing about 2006 being the last model, plus new job has really tight internet controls *sigh*. New kid is the other internet usage meter.
