Default OT - Vacationing in WI & MI

Sorry to clutter the board up but I am planning a vacation for mid- to late- August (7-10 days) and was thinking about going up to Wisconsin and/or Minnesota. It will be my wife and I. She likes to shop/antique. I want to golf at least 3 times.

Can you please post any recommendations for Resorts or upscale Hotels. I was looking at the 'Grand Geneva Resort and Spa' (Lake Geneva) as a potential first stop (3-4 days).

Additionally, if you post a place to stay, any local golf course recommendations would be appreciated. I'm not that good, 20+ handicap, but love to play.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

I've heard the Grand Geneva advertised on the radio, but I've never been there. The ads sound good. If you stay in Lake Geneva a couple of days, have dinner at the Grandview Restaurant at the Geneva Inn. It's located on the lake, a bit south of the center of town. For your wife, Richmond, Illinois is known as a pretty good antiqueing town: antique stores all over the "downtown". It's the first town in Illinois as you go south from Lake Geneva on Route 12. If you are there on a Friday night, Richmond hosts a classic car cruise-in every Friday evening in the summer.
Enjoy your vacation!
