Default Rattle from right rear

Hey guys, I have a new sound that I started to notice recently... Whenever I am in first taking off or driving slow, if I rev the engine I hear a rattling throuty sound. Any idead what this could be?

It's a 2002 with just under 20K miles.

Thanks,
Denny

I know there have been issues with the spare tire rattling if it's in the rear. Check to see if that is it.

Could be the spare tire lock-down bolt, could be something with the soft top mechanism (if it's foled down when you hear it), could be a broken hanger on your exhaust.

Need more detail, or need to hear it in person to properly diagnose it.

I'd check the spare-tire first, then the exhaust, then maybe the soft-top.

I don't think its the spare tire as it only happens when I rev the engine. Could be the exhaust, what would cause this?

As luder mentioned, possibly a broken/loose hangar that can be causing the exhaust to rattle. I would check all the possibilities just to be sure still though.

Actually, now that I think about it...it could even be the catalytic converter heat shield. Rust can get to those rivets that hold the heat shield on....you may have one rivet that has either loosened up or failed.

As the other rivets start to loosen or fail, the rattling will/could get worse.

Just another thing to look at.

I have the OEM exhaust... now that I have investigated a bit....sounds like its coming from the valve cover
