Ya know, the s2k was my dream car growing up. I got it when I was 18 and had it for 7 years.
When looking for a replacement I still think its the best bang for your buck at around the 20-25k mark. I was fortunate that even after taking a bath with my insurance settlement I had a little more. And even up to 50k it was difficult to find a rwd/2 seat/convert that seemed like it could match the driving experience of the s2k.
I ended up looking at vettes/996/exige etc and exige just won me over.
My buyer inspection and test drive was on a race track in Texas. I was sold immediately. Gentlemen also had an atom I got a ride around the track in. Awesome ride as well.
Well see how the ownership experience goes. I'm not excited to pay nonsense prices for parts and any labor I may need (I do intend to do as much as I can). So hopefully I don't miss the s2k to much in that sense. But it is what it is.
I'm excited to see everyone around this seAson. I hope to make a few track days this year and as many auto x as possible to learn the car.
Now...... I just hope weather is clear on Friday lol
