The last time I got quoted to repair a qrt panel the insurance adjuster wrote me a check for 4,500+ I refused the check and the body shop ended up charging them 7900+ when it was all said and done. I brought pictures to a "hood" shop and they quoted me 1600 to repair and paint. Looking back at it now I should have prolly kept the check and sold the car as is since I ended up selling it a couple weeks after it came out of the shop.

 

Any chance you have a copy of the final bill for 7900+?

I'd like to take a look at the parts, paint, and labor they put on there to get to that value and compare it to mine.
Of course please remove any personal details you don't want to share.

 

I know Abra, and they will do everything they can to cut costs. That is very nice if you aren't trying to be particular about your repair and you're paying out of pocket. When I was rear-ended in my Jaguar, the gentleman's insurance company tried to make me take it to Abra because they were the cheapest.
